Arthroscopic Shoulder Procedures

Arthroscopic Shoulder Procedures

This is a surgical technique that allows the surgeon to utilize advanced techniques to address rotator cuff, labral, biceps tendon, acromion bone spurs, bursitis and several other painful anatomic structures around the shoulder. Small arthroscopic incisions, about 1cm are made and a surgical camera is used to perform various procedures.

Advantages:

  • Better visualization for the surgeon, allowing for stronger repairs
  • Minimal skin and muscle damage during the procedure compared to "open" procedures
  • Shorter recovery and better pain relief postoperatively
  • Less wound healing issues compared to "open" procedures
