Detecting breast cancer early is the primary goal of routine breast care. Finding breast problems early gives you the best chance of successful treatment. Routine care can also help find other noncancerous or benign conditions.
State-of-the-art imaging for breast cancer screening is available in Lebanon and Whitestown at Anson
Witham’s state-of-the-art 3D tomosynthesis mammography detects breast disease more accurately by finding 40% more breast cancers and decreasing follow-up testing by 40%. Regular breast cancer screening helps find breast cancer early - when treatment options and effectiveness are increased. Breast Ultrasound, Abbreviated Breast MRI, and Routine Screening Breast MRI with and without contrast are also available.

Our skilled and compassionate team will guide you through additional testing when needed
If a screening test, such as a mammogram, identifies an area of concern, you will be referred for additional testing to better understand the concern and receive a diagnosis. At Witham this type of testing is done in our Breast Care Center in Whitestown at Anson and in our Women’s Center in Lebanon. Our caring and compassionate team will support you through this additional testing that could include a breast ultrasound, breast MRI with or without contrast, a fine needle biopsy, ultrasound-guided core biopsy or stereotactic guided core biopsy.

This space offers patients an easy-to-access destination for care as they come from across the state and farther to see Dr. Schmidt and his team.

The Cancer Institute provides radiation oncology services and targeted therapies while our Hematology Oncology Center provides chemotherapy and infusion. Our Oncology Patient Navigator assists patients with overcoming barriers to treatment, helps with coordination of care and gives emotional support as patients progress through treatment. You’ll find items that aid in recovery and treatment for sale in the Pavilion Boutique and cancer-focused classes and support groups are offered by our Wellness Department. Witham offers all of these services in our hospital, close to home.
