Detecting breast cancer early is the primary goal of routine breast care. Finding breast problems early gives you the best chance of successful treatment. Routine care can also help find other noncancerous or benign conditions.

State-of-the-art imaging for breast cancer screening is available in Lebanon and Whitestown at Anson

Witham’s state-of-the-art 3D tomosynthesis mammography detects breast disease more accurately by finding 40% more breast cancers and decreasing follow-up testing by 40%. Regular breast cancer screening helps find breast cancer early - when treatment options and effectiveness are increased. Breast MRI with and without contrast is also available.

The Witham Women's Center is a Breast Center of Excellence and is American College of Radiology (ACR) Accredited.

R. Thomas Schmidt, M.D., Indiana's first surgical breast oncologist, provides individualized care at Witham's new Breast Care Center in Whitestown at Anson.

Dr. Schmidt told the Lebanon Reporter in October 2023 that...

"Witham is a wonderful hospital and an amazing facility. The people are so caring and I think patients really appreciate the hands-on kind of care. In breast services specifically, you’re talking about mammography techs and radiologists that deliver the highest quality readings and their full-service breast center is phenomenal.”
