Aims to expand services, enhance clinical capabilities, keep care close to home

Witham Health Services announced today the health system has executed a non-binding Letter of Intent to join Fort Wayne-based Parkview Health later this year. Parkview and Witham have recognized how the health systems together can advance local healthcare for the community.

Both share a deep commitment to delivering high quality, patient-centered care and strengthening access to services in the communities they serve. Witham’s long-standing reputation, strong clinical performance and trusted presence in Boone County align closely with Parkview’s mission to support local healthcare delivery, address evolving community needs and ensure rural and growing areas of Indiana have sustainable, high-quality care for years to come.

The decision to join Parkview was made after careful consideration by the Witham Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team. “It was important to choose a system that shares our values and our mission to improve the health of our community. We wanted a leader in quality, and we’ve found that at Parkview,” said Kelly Braverman, Witham President and CEO. “We are also impressed by Parkview’s nationally recognized patient experience and workplace culture and are excited about the potential to expand services, enhance clinical capabilities, and improve access for patients in and around Boone County.”

Parkview’s President of Physician and Clinical Enterprise Dr. Ray Dusman added, “Health care is personal, and it works best when it stays rooted in the community. Witham has cared for generations of families in Boone County, and we’re honored by the opportunity to support that legacy, keeping trusted local caregivers in place while expanding access to services and specialists so patients can get more of the care they need close to home.”

A definitive agreement will be subject to the successful completion of due diligence, regulatory approvals, and final authorization from the Boone County Commissioners and Council.

A public hearing will be held to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the definitive agreement. Additional details about the hearing will be shared in the Lebanon Reporter in the coming weeks. Updates from Witham will be shared at www.witham.org/announcement.
