Witham’s mission is to improve health through genuine care and unwavering support, and our vision is to provide exceptional and easy experiences to all we serve. Witham holds very strongly our values of Honesty, Thoughtfulness, Professionalism, and especially Supportive Community. By joining Parkview, we can bring significant investments in healthcare services to Boone County and the I-65 corridor, expand services, enhance clinical capabilities, and keep care close to home.

When Flavius J. Witham gifted funds to establish a hospital in 1915, his intent was to provide local access to healthcare services. Mr. Witham’s wish has been fulfilled for more than 111 years as Witham Health Services has grown and improved with the surrounding community.

Parkview and Witham share a deep commitment to delivering high quality, patient centered care and strengthening access to services in the communities they serve. Pending completion of approvals, due diligence, and final agreements, Witham will become part of the greater Parkview Health system. Planning around any changes in brand and name will be made as part of the final agreements.

Pending approval from the Boone County Commissioners and Boone County Council, completion of due diligence, regulatory approvals, and final agreements, Witham will become part of Parkview Health and will no longer be a county hospital. The health system will continue to focus on caring for the community in and around Boone County and will have more resources to do so.

There will be no immediate changes. Witham will be working with Parkview over the next several weeks to share details about our operations, schedule on-site visits and meetings, and learn more about their health system, too.

After completion of approvals, due diligence, and final agreements, strategic investment will be made to grow services, increase access to care, and improve local capabilities.
Changes to align with the Parkview brand, technology, policies, and employee benefits are expected over time.

Witham will continue to be governed by its own local Board of Trustees and the current Witham Executive Leadership Team will continue to lead local governance. The Board’s current members will be invited to continue to serve, and two additional members will be selected by Parkview.

This partnership has been initiated with respect to Witham’s mission, vision, and values, which align very well with Parkview’s mission to improve health and inspire well-being. Parkview is a national leader in safety and quality, patient experience, and workplace culture. The system is the recipient of numerous national awards and received ‘A’ grades in the fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grades released by the Leapfrog Group.
