Witham is excited to welcome Dan Sellers as the Chief Financial Officer of Witham Health Services. Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with him. Prior to joining Witham he created Kavy Consulting which offered healthcare consulting to health plans and hospitals. Before Kavy, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC) from 2002 until 2021. At HHC his operational responsibilities included leading the corporate finance and accounting department and Information Technology (IT). He was a leading member of the team that designed and built the Eskenazi Hospital, helping ensure it was built to the highest quality standard while finishing on time and under budget. His leadership roles included operational and financial oversight of the corporation’s 78 nursing homes and the Indianapolis EMS (the county 911 ambulance service). Separately he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Eskenazi Health from September 2012 until November 2015. He also served on several boards supporting HHC, including the board of MDwise from 2002 until 2017. He has a diverse background in finance and finance related areas. He hopes his experiences and skills will be helpful to Witham and he is also excited to learn from and grow with the Witham team.

He has more than 30 years of experience in finance and was recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal as the 2013 CFO of the Year for his efforts to improve the financial and technological operations at Eskenazi Health while also helping lead the building of the new hospital. Witham welcomes Dan to our team!

   Get to know Dan……

  1. Where do you live?  -Are you from around here?
    1. Grew up in Columbus OH.
    2. Lived in Indy since 1993
  2. Are you married? Children? Names?
    1. Wife, April.  29 years
    2. Daughters Avery (20) and Katie (16). Both rising juniors in college and high school respectively.
  3. What is your favorite vacation place?
    1. Personal favorite is Hawaii. When I was a child my mother took us (Mom and 3 boys, I’m the oldest) 3 times to visit our uncle who lived there.
    2. Family favorite is South Haven.  April and I take the girls up every year-typically for the 4th of July. The girls love it there and get very upset if we don’t get a week there each year
  4. What is your favorite sport to watch or play?
    1. I played soccer into college. I stopped playing recreationally about 15 years ago because I continued to get injured playing against 20 year olds. I never learned how to slow down, so I just had to stop.  I still love to watch it.
    2. I had never hit a tennis ball until Covid. It is now my favorite sport. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to play as much since accepting this role – I’ll learn to live with the loss.
  5. What radio station do you listen to?
    1. To pretend I am young, I have to ask, what is a radio station?
    2. 92.3 is my usual go to station, but now I listen to podcasts and audiobooks more frequently.
  6. Do you have pets? If so what are they and their names?
    1. We own 2 male dogs.
    2. Carney – 12 year old, white, long-hair Chihuahua/Terrier mix (9 lbs).
    3. Baxter – 3 year old, lab/hound mix that looks like a Bluetick Coonhound (72 lbs). Baxter loves Carney – Carney (alpha) hates Baxter.
  7. How many pairs of shoes do you have
    1. I have let my collection shrink since covid.  I only own 19 pair right now. This is a good reminder to build it back up.
  8. What was your favorite subject in school?
    1. In high school my favorite subject was accounting. In college I loved political science. Anymore I try to stay away from both.
