Witham Health Services is proud to announce a new program that you can’t find anywhere else in Central Indiana. Pedaling for Parkinson’s is a stationary cycling program based on the research performed by Dr. Jay Albert at the Cleveland Clinic. The Pedaling for Parkinson’s program is a form of “Forced Exercise” on an indoor bicycle. Participants have shown improvement in their Parkinson’s related symptoms by as much as 35%. The mission of this program is to help improve the quality of life of people living with Parkinson’s disease. In addition, Pedaling for Parkinson’s provides information for patients and caregivers, and the general public about the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle after a Parkinson’s diagnosis. Participants ride for 1 hour - a 10 minute warm up at 60 RPM, followed by 40 minutes at 80 to 90 RPM, and a 10 minute cool down. Pedaling for Parkinson's is held weekly from 9:00 - 10:00 am Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Witham Health Services Wellness Center. COVID Safety Information: To keep you safe during our classes and events we are keeping our class sizes small (25 people or less) and social distancing.
