Kasey Copeland may be new in his role as the “Risk Manager” for Witham but he certainly is not new to Witham. The past ten years you may remember him as a Paramedic for Witham Medical Transport and Boone County EMS. While working in EMS has been one of the most interesting jobs Kasey has held, he is excited to bring the knowledge and expertise he has gained from it to his new position.

Healthcare risk management comprises the systems and processes to uncover, mitigate, and prevent risks in healthcare institutions. Risk prevention does not mean risk is eliminated; rather it ensures that when a potential risk or an actual event happens, we have a system in place to take corrective steps towards fixing the issues.

At Witham we encourage our staff to report incidents so they can be shared with others to learn from and prevent them from happening in the future.
