Eat the RAINBOW!


The more colorful your plate, the better! Our ancestors ate over 800 different varies of plants. The average American eats the same 20 foods, most of them are not plants! What do the color of your vegetables say about them?

RED – Lycopene protects against heart disease and genetic damage that may cause cancer. Enjoy tomatoesd, pink grapefruit and watermelon!

BLUE-PURPLE – Anthocyanin prevents blood clots, delays cell aging, and may slow Alzheimer’s onset. Blueberries, eggplanat, beets, purple grapes, blackberries and prunes are some excellent choices!

GREEN – Phytochemicals, sulforaphene, isocyanates, and indoles inhibit carcinogens and boost detoxification. Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, Bok choy and kale can be your gree go-to's!

PALE GREEN – WHITE – Allicins are anti-cancer, antitumor, immune-boosting, and antimicrobial. Think leeks, scallions, garlic, onions, celery, pears, endive and chives!

ORANGE – Alpha-carotene protects against cancer and benefits skin and vision. Carrots, mangos, apricots, cantaloupes, pumpkin, acorn squash, winter squash and sweet potatoes are great orange choices!

YELLOW-GREEN – Carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin benefit the eyes and safeguards our hearts against atherosclerosis. Spinach greens, Collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, yellow corn, green peas, avocado and honeydew melon are some examples to savor.
