Sunflower Recipient Announced

Congratulations to Leandra Houchin the Witham Sunflower Honoree from January – June 2024.
Prior to moving to the Witham orthopaedic office, Leandra worked in Witham’s Convenient Care located in Lebanon, where she was nominated for a Sunflower award in February. When presented with the award Leandra was able to share a little more about the particular situation last spring where a toddler had a seizure and quit breathing. She also recognized all of the amazing people that were working in the Lebanon Convenient Care office that day with her. Leandra said that they don’t usually have things like this happen in the immediate care but that everyone handled this event with smoothness and professionalism. She said that without this team things could have went drastically different. Leandra was certainly part of the calm that was needed on that day. 

Leandra’s nomination: “Has always helped with no hesitation. Took great care of my son when he had his seizure. Even brought the things I dropped, up to the hospital we got sent to. Never failed to give us the top care when we came.”

The Sunflower program at Witham is used to recognize extraordinary care and service provided by non-nursing staff. Sunflower Award nominees personify Witham's remarkable patient experience. These staff members consistently demonstrate excellence through their expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our Witham community. Witham recognizes an honoree twice a year.
