Allergy testing helps identify the line of treatment appropriate for you
Allergy testing provides the physician with the information necessary to identify the line of treatment that is appropriate for you. Skin testing is the preferred method of testing. Our center uses modified quantitative testing, which is a combination of prick testing and intradermal testing to determine which allergens are causing symptoms.
Our test panel includes molds, grasses, trees, weeds, dust, dog, cat, and others. Skin testing may take 1.5-2 hours to complete. Patients ages 8 years and up are eligible. If you are not a candidate for skin testing, allergy testing through bloodwork may be an option.
Every treatment plan is unique and tailored to the individual patient
Treatment may include avoidance, antihistamines, immunotherapy in the form of injections or sublingual drops, surgery or a combination of these options. Immunotherapy treatment is a long-term desensitization treatment with the goal of increasing the body's immune system in response to allergens. The Allergy and Sinus Center team works collaboratively with you to help achieve this goal.
