For the most personal healthcare matters, you deserve a doctor and program you can trust. Our board-certified gynecologists and nurse practitioners will treat you with compassion and expertise.

We offer:
Personalized care: Our care team listens to you and seeks to understand your symptoms and what matters most to you. This approach enables our OB/GYNs to offer the right tests and treatments for your needs.

Team approach: Our doctors, nurses, and staff work together seamlessly to deliver the most well-rounded care.

Collaborative Care: We partner with Witham’s laboratory and radiology teams for the accurate diagnostic testing necessary to deliver precise treatments. Our doctors participate in regular meetings with our maternity care team, as well as pediatrics, to discuss upcoming cases and procedures.

Convenience: We bring care close to home with locations in Lebanon, Crawfordsville, Frankfort, and Whitestown at Anson. We offer routine services at each location, and coordinate your care for you, from diagnostic testing through treatment.

Expedited access: For urgent needs, we offer same-day appointments with our nurse practitioner whenever possible. The details of your visit will be shared with your OB/GYN, who will follow up on your care.

Easy referrals: We partner on your care with Witham surgeons and specialists outside of Witham, including fertility specialists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, gynecologic oncologists and urogynecologists. We will coordinate the referral and provide all of the information the specialist needs.

We’ll be your partners in women’s health and pregnancy care

You may see your gynecologist primarily for your annual exam. We will help you stay on top of screenings to prevent certain gynecologic conditions. We’re also here if you have any concerns about your reproductive health. We know you have goals for your life, and your reproductive health may play a role in how and if you achieve them.

At Witham OB/GYN, your goals are our goals, and we take them into account as we recommend care options. As your women’s health partner, we provide a full range of lifechanging obstetric and gynecologic care.

Gynecological Care

Aside from annual exams, you might see our providers for:

  • Birth control to prevent pregnancy, regulate menstrual cycles and treat heavy uterine bleeding
  • Hormone replacement therapy to treat perimenopause and menopause
  • Medical devices, such as pessaries, to treat pelvic floor disorders
  • Minimally invasive and traditional surgical procedures to treat endometriosis and uterine fibroids

Pregnancy Care
We offer a full range of low-risk pregnancy care options. Our providers will work to understand your goals for your pregnancy and delivery. They’ll also help you understand what to expect throughout the process.

When the time comes for you to deliver your baby, you’ll come to our Maternity Center for maternity care. You and your baby will receive all the care you need before, during and after delivery in a private room.

Fertility Care
If you are trying to conceive, our OB/GYNs are here to support you each step of the way — from preparing your body for pregnancy through delivery and beyond. And if having a baby is taking longer than you hoped it would, we offer first-line infertility treatments, such as clomid. If you choose to pursue advanced treatments, then we will refer you to a specialist with whom we’ll partner on your care while continuing to serve as your primary women’s health care doctor. Our experts are prepared to offer suggestions to guide you in choosing a specialist or practice. We will coordinate the referral and provide all of the information the specialist needs.

We offer a full range of diagnostic testing, imaging, exams, and procedures

Accurate diagnostic testing is essential to determining the cause of symptoms so we can recommend the right treatments. If you already have a diagnosis, we will perform the testing necessary to confirm the diagnosis. If you’re experiencing symptoms, but don’t have a diagnosis, we will help determine the source of the problem and a recommended treatment.
Your provider will begin by performing a pelvic exam to check your vulva and reproductive organs, including your vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. The exam is performed either as a part of your annual checkup or to address symptoms.

Imaging
If your provider needs to visualize organs and other structures inside your body to determine the cause of symptoms, they may request imaging tests in our Women’s Center

  • Pelvic ultrasound including both abdominal and transvaginal — meaning “through the vagina” — to see your reproductive organs, including your vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries
  • Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to visualize the inside of your uterus and fallopian tubes by injecting contrast dye into your uterus through a thin, flexible tube and performing an X-ray

Diagnostic Procedures

Your provider may recommend a diagnostic procedure to determine the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding or look for abnormal cells. Checking for abnormal cells allows your doctor to either prevent the cells from developing into cancer or treat it at its earliest stage. Diagnostic procedures include:

  • Pap smear, or Pap test, to screen for cervical cancer, usually as a part of your annual checkup, by collecting cells from your cervix to examine under a microscope
  • Hysteroscopy to examine the inside of your uterus to determine the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding using a hysteroscope, a thin tube with a light
  • Colposcopy to examine your cervix, vagina and vulva to look for abnormal cells using a colposcope, an instrument with a light and magnifier; if your doctor finds abnormal cells, they may perform a biopsy
  • Biopsy including cervical biopsy and endometrial biopsy to collect and study tissue from the cervix or endometrium to look for cancer
  • Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) to remove abnormal cells from the cervix using a tool with an electrical wire loop

If you are diagnosed with a gynecological condition, we will offer compassionate treatment and care

Our providers treat all women’s health conditions, including menstrual and sex hormone disorders, uterine conditions, pregnancy and vaginal infections.

Menstrual disorders

  • Irregular, heavy or painful periods can feel not only inconvenient but also worrisome. We treat all menstrual disorders:
  • Amenorrhea, or absent periods for more than three consecutive cycles either starting at puberty or later in life
  • Dysmenorrhea, or painful periods
  • Menorrhagia, or heavy, long periods
  • Metrorrhagia, or periods that are too frequent
  • Oligomenorrhea, or infrequent periods
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), which often occurs a week or two before your period begins and involves symptoms such as fatigue, food cravings, tender breasts, irritability, mood swings and depression
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which, like PMS, occurs a week or two before your period begins but is more serious, causing irritability, depression and anxiety

Sex hormone disorders

Sex hormone balance is critical for sexual function, fertility and your wellbeing. Our OB/GYNs can rebalance your hormones to treat:

  • Androgen excess, or when the body produces too much male hormone
  • Hirsutism, or excessive hair growth on the abdomen, back, chest and face
  • Menopause, or when your body has stopped giving you a period for at least one year and involves symptoms such as fatigue, hot flashes and irritability
  • Perimenopause, or the period before menopause in which the level of estrogen fluctuates irregularly, leading to irregular menstrual cycles and those during which you don’t ovulate, or release an egg; you may also experience the symptoms of menopause
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a disorder in women of childbearing age in which women have too much male hormone, which can cause irregular periods and cysts, or sacs filled with fluid, to form on the ovaries, which can inhibit ovulation

Uterine conditions

Problems with your uterus, a major female reproductive organ, can impact your quality of life — causing symptoms such as abnormal bleeding, pain and infertility. We treat:

  • Adenomyosis, or when the endometrium, or lining of the uterus, grows into the muscle wall of the uterus
  • Endometrial hyperplasia, or an abnormally thick endometrium, which is noncancerous but can lead to uterine cancer or cause endometrial polyps
  • Endometrial polyps, or growths in the endometrium, which are usually noncancerous but can develop into cancer
  • Endometriosis, or when the endometrium grows outside your uterus and grows on other pelvic organs such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes
  • Uterine fibroids, or growths in the uterus

Vaginal infections

Vaginal infections are uncomfortable and may also leave you feeling concerned about your health and future. We provide relief for all vaginal infections:

  • Bacterial vaginosis, or too much bacteria in the vagina
  • Cervicitis, or inflammation of the cervix
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease, an infection of the female reproductive organs — including the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries — caused by bacteria
  • Sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea and trichomoniasis
  • Urinary tract infection, an infection in the bladder, urethra, kidneys or ureters
  • Vaginal yeast infection, a fungal infection that causes irritation and itchiness of the vagina and vulva

Other gynecologic conditions

We also treat:

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding such as post-menopausal bleeding and post-coital bleeding
  • Cervical dysplasia, or abnormal cells on the cervix
  • Ovarian cysts in or on one or both ovaries
  • Pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic pain, which can arise from reproductive organs, the digestive and urinary tract or bones and tissue in the lower abdomen and pelvis
  • Sexual dysfunction including pain, loss of interest and not achieving orgasm
  • Ectopic pregnancy, or when the embryo implants outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube, or tubal pregnancy
